Our F.A.Q. …

These are our most commonly asked questions…

What’s included with our Direct Primary Care membership?

Am I still required to have health insurance coverage for my child or children while living in Colorado?

As of January 2020, the ongoing federal court case challenging the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, is still moving through the courts.  The Tax Penalty for being uninsured has been struck down but the rest of the law remains in effect.  In Colorado, the ACA open enrollment period ended on January 15th, 2020.  This means that, unless you qualify for an exception, you won’t be able to obtain health insurance through Connect for Health Colorado until 2021 open enrollment period begins in the fall of 2020.

Why would I consider a DPC membership for my child or children?

With Direct Primary Care our providers are able to avoid the time normally spent preparing and filing the insurance paperwork.  This allows for in-depth visits and consultations with our valued patients and families.  This enables our Providers to get to know their patients’ health history and story in detail, creating an opportunity for more personalized care which is the foundation of our relationship-based healthcare model.

What’s not included with our Direct Primary Care membership?

Non-Covered Services:  In-Office Allergy Testing & Serum, Third-Party Labs or labs required outside the clinic, Immunizations, Emergency Room Visits, Imaging/Radiology, Hospitalizations, Ambulance/Transport costs, Services rendered with Non-Mainstreet Pediatrics Providers.

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC) and how does it work?  ?

Our Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership provides a meaningful alternative to fee-for-service insurance billing by charging a cost-effective and reasonable monthly or annual fee.  This fee covers all or most primary care services including clinical and laboratory services, consultative services, care coordination, and comprehensive care management.

Because some services are not covered by under the DPC membership we often suggest that patients acquire a high-deductible wraparound policy to cover emergencies.

How is my Direct Primary Care financial account managed and maintained?

Here at Mainstreet Pediatrics, we utilize the services of Hint (www.Hint.com) to manage and maintain the financial aspects of our DPC memberships.  Your child’s healthcare record is maintained on our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system just like our traditional healthcare insurance patients.  Both Hint and our EMR are HIPPA compliant secure platforms.
